This is my first year hosting Thanksgiving and I am super excited. While I have been busy planning the meal, I neglected to think about the table decor. Enter my three year old and my five year old. With some supplies we already had in the house, they made a turkey to set at each plate on our diner table.
This is so simple and enjoyable for the kids, that you can even have them do this craft the morning of Thanksgiving. It gives the children a sense of pride to see their work used as a focal point of the holiday!
Steps: First, cut the paper towel rolls to about 2 or 3 inches tall. Next, have the children draw a turkey on the front of the toilet paper roll (my five year old did this). Then, they can color one side of the coffee filter. When finished, have children glue feathers to the colored side of the coffee filter. Finally, glue the body of the turkey to the feathers!
