Creative Creations Using Safe and Eco Friendly Paints!

Unfortunately, like so many other things that we come into contact with daily, children’s craft supplies, like paints, often contain toxic chemicals including PVC. That’s why I decided to find an eco friendly paint that is safe for my children to work with. It wasn’t too hard to find since my mother had already done all of the research! She sells Eco-Kids products at her store, Healthy Alternatives. How lucky are we!?

So, looking for a project to do today that involved both painting and a Thanksgiving based theme, we made turkeys! Though we have used the Eco -Dough quite often, it was out first experience with their paint. It was so easy to mix up (1 part water to 1 part powdered paint) and it was so fun to use! Plus, all of the colors are made with natural and organic fruit and vegetable extracts, such as beets, carrots and spinach! Here’s a look at what we created…

We started by mixing the paint, which Lee had a blast doing!

Next, we used our hands to make feathers.

Then, we let the feathers dry.

And then we glued on the pieces to the rest of the turkey!

Thanks, Eco-Kids, for making products that are safe for our environment and our children!

I need to get some of that eco-friendly paint! We don’t do many crafts and I bet my 5 year old would love it!
